First Purchases for Travel

Traveling starts with these items! Here are the First Purchases I made to start my travel journey and how they help you on your adventures!

Passport Wallet
This item is a larger sized and folding wallet. Not only does this hold all of your cards and passport. The larger size and folding function will give you extra room to keep your travels organized.
  • Holds all of your cards and passport.
  • Secures and organizes large tickets, papers and receipts.
  • Easily holds oddly shaped items like metro passes.
  • Nooks for room key cards or larger actual lock room keys.

Location Tracker (Air) Tags
These are location tags are a MUST! I use AirTags, These tech jewels show you their location, just about anywhere in the world. Grab a pack of 4 online for your: passport wallet, checked bag, carry-on bag and one to spare! change their batteries once a year.
  • Track your bags & wallet as you travel on your phone, especially if you are separated from them.
  • While you are exploring a new city, look up your luggage tag to see how far you are from your hotel.
  • Share the locations with your emergency contacts so they can track you too.

Luggage Set
I have a 3-peice (3 different sizes) luggage set for air and train travel. The smallest one is my airplane carry on. I got mine on a holiday sale from my favorite department store, Macys, for $120 dollars.
  • Look for a brand that offers a warranty! I broke the handle on my carry-on and they sent me a new one for free!
  • Get a hard sided set of luggage so it's more durable against rain, stains and damage.
  • I love the swivel wheels, so you can steer your bag in any direction.

Tote or Weekender Bag
I prefer a backpack or tote for road trips because I will not be carrying my bag around through an airport, these are also called "weekenders". I have a larger one and a smaller purse sized one. Snag a well-reviewed tote bag online, here's the larger one I've had for years. I got it on Amazon - Here for under $40!
Having a large and medium size tote allows you to pack light for quick trips or use both for extended stays. My small personal sized tote, that I use as a flight personal item, doubles as my purse for day exploring and travel shopping.
